T
he present study explored the relationship between perceived social support and relapse proneness in persons with
substance use disorders. Sample of 60 participants was drawn from different drug addiction treatment and rehabilitation
centers located in Lahore, Pakistan. Self made demographic Information sheet, multidimensional perceived Social Support
Scale (MPSS) (zimet et al, 1988) and Advance Warning of Relapse Questionnaire (AWARE) (Miller & Harris, 2000) was
used to assessed demographic information, perceived social support and relapse proneness respectively. Results revealed
a significant negative relationship between perceived social support and relapse proneness in persons with substance use
disorders. The finding may aid in the contribution to decease the probability of the relapse by increasing support groups
for clients by methods such as counseling family members and friends
