Abstract

Climate change poses a significant threat to global rice production, impacting yield due to increased temperatures, altered precipitation patterns, and extreme weather events. Rice is highly sensitive to temperature fluctuations, water scarcity, and shifting pest dynamics, all of which are exacerbated by climate change. This article explores the various impacts of climate change on rice farming, including reduced yields, water management challenges, and pest proliferation. It also outlines adaptive strategies for maintaining rice production, including the development of climate-resilient rice varieties, improved water management practices, pest control, and agricultural diversification. Policy support, capacitybuilding initiatives, and climate financing are essential to support farmers in adapting to these challenges and ensuring long-term food security.
