Biography
Dr. Gebretekle’s areas of expertise encompass several methodological domains, including health economics, decision modeling, evaluation of public health interventions, health outcome research, epidemiology, and application of qualitative and quantitative methodologies in public health. He led the implementation of pharmacist-led antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) intervention for the first time in Sub-Saharan Africa; and demonstrate the feasibility, impact, and cost-effectiveness of the intervention in a low-resource setting. Following his studies, Ethiopia developed national AMS implementation guidelines and decision has been reached at the ministerial level to cascade the program to 30 hospitals.Publications
